Our Story
Data Shelter LLC was founded in 2016 by a small group of investors who had acquired a cold war era underground nuclear bunker that had been part of the US Department of Defense’s AutoVon early warning system built in the 60’s. Mark Oxley (founding member) of the group and a seasoned data center manager led a design team through the rigorous Uptime design and certification process achieving a design certification in 2017. This original design of the bunker became the inspiration and the foundation of Mark’s recent modular designs incorporating many of the bunkers design and security elements. Since that initial design Data Shelter has broadened it’s scope by partnering with leading 3-D printing company and providing consulting and design services to others.
