99.995% Uptime design will not go down for any reason including maintenance or replacement of any part or whole system.

TIER III REQUIREMENTS:

  • Constructed to allow for “Planned Maintenance” known as “Concurrently Maintainable”.
  • Does not address unplanned Failures of critical equipment or systems.
  • Some Tier III’s try to Masquerade as Tier IV with some redundant systems, but fail in the Key Uptime Institute design requirements for Tier IV.

TIER IV vs TIER III

  • (Two) Fully redundant Fault Tolerant “A side, “B side “mirrors of all critical equipment and systems.
  • Each system must be compartmentalized from fire, water and human error.
  • Additionally, each system must be fully automated to respond to a fault.
